The fcNET works with the Maine Community College system to bring community college courses to greater Franklin County. Students interested in earning a degree can take some courses locally, earning credits directly from the Maine Community College system towards a degree from Central Maine Community College. The Network also works with local businesses to determine what types of training are needed and organizes specialized training sessions in Franklin County and Livermore Falls. This ensures that businesses can find what they are looking for in the local workforce.
With multiple sites offering classes and with a variety of course offerings, accessing higher education opportunities through the Community College System in Franklin County is now a reality!
fcTourism aims to establish Franklin County as a visitor destination. With numerous opportunities no matter what the season, Franklin County offers reasons for both visitors and businesses to build a relationship with the county. The Tourism Network works to increase business revenue for both businesses and nonprofits, as well as encourage business development and growth.
The Network of Networks is an association of committed people with a new way of doing business. The group formed a network with the intention of creating a “brand” for Franklin County. This brand will give the county an identity that can attract new visitors and businesses and give the county a personality that differentiates it from other destinations around the world.
Members of the network come from the University of Maine at Farmington, Franklin Community Health Network, Bangor Savings Bank, Franklin Savings Bank, the Greater Franklin Development Corporation, Western Mountains Alliance, Franklin County Chamber of Commerce, Rangeley Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce, Mt. Blue Regional School District, and many towns. Interested citizens and business leaders have also participated.
Franklin Community Health Network (FCHN) is an integrated network of rural healthcare providers. Created in 1991 by Franklin Memorial Hospital, FCHN focuses on achieving the highest level of health for the community. Nestled in the heart of Franklin County, Franklin Memorial Hospital is providing the highest quality of care to those in Farmington and the surrounding towns. Offering state-of-the-art technology, FMH prides itself on being one of the lowest cost hospitals in Maine.
In 2008, the hospital opened the Franklin Health Medical Arts Center, a new $10 million medical office building. This 58,000 square foot building houses Franklin Health Pediatrics, women's care, orthopedics, general surgery, and urology medical practices, as well as the Martha B. Webber Breast Care Center. The new building will allow physicians to better accommodate the growing number of patients looking for care at these practices.
In 2012, Franklin Memorial Hospital opened the Androscoggin Valley Medical Arts Center in Livermore Falls providing a variety of healthcare services.
