GFDC Receives Grant from Maine Community Foundation

August 9, 2017

Greater Franklin Development Council has received a $20,000 grant from the H. King & Jean Cummings Charitable Fund of the Maine Community Foundation to support GFDC’s strategic planning process!

This grant will allow GFDC to add more destination development and tourism networking with fcTourism and the Franklin County Network of Networks to our current strategic plan, with the goal of strengthening partnerships between these networks and rural communities to develop essential facilities and create business opportunities.

Rural Maine communities have the potential to thrive and be sustainable by building upon their strengths and identifying development opportunities that can lead to growth, and a lot of those current strengths and future opportunities lie in our abundant natural resources and existing destination assets.

With offices in Ellsworth and Portland, the Maine Community Foundation works with donors and other partners to improve the quality of life for all Maine people. To learn more about the foundation, visit www.mainecf.org.
