The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) is bringing an unprecedented amount of funding to Maine counties. Franklin County is expected to receive $5.9 million. Utilizing data specific to our region, The Maine Center for Economic Policy has produced a Guide for Franklin County which notes, “Effective allocation of these funds will aid recovery, address inequities and improve prospects for residents and businesses.” It further highlights that to improve capacity, our county government “should prioritize partnerships with local municipalities and nonprofit organizations in allocating ARPA dollars.”
Read through this report and think about leveraging these dollars with multiple organizations to strengthen our communities and economy. Our commissioners have asked for your input and they need to hear from you.
