What Greater Franklin Development Council is all about...

Greater Franklin Development Council was established in 1998 by a group of local business people in an effort to strengthen economic development in the greater Franklin County area. Our goal is to create and retain quality employment opportunities in Franklin County by attracting new businesses, assisting local employers, and encouraging entrepreneurship. We are a nonprofit organization that receives funding annually through private businesses and investors, including financial institutions.

Greater Franklin has strategic partnerships with the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development, Androscoggin Valley Council of Governments, Coastal Enterprises, Inc., Maine & Co., Maine Small Business Development Centers, and the Maine Department of Labor's Career Centers.

Our office at Front Street Exchange —
sharing space with other economic development organizations...

Greater Franklin Development Council. Coastal Enterprises Inc. 30 Mile River Watershed Association. AVCOG. You’ll find all of these names on the sign outside our door, and collectively we are known as Front Street Exchange.

As economic development organizations sharing space, we share ideas. This is the viewpoint we all have when it comes to working here at Front Street Exchange. It has been a successful collaboration for our economy, and we hope to continue this relationship over the years.
